Officials hold fire drill for residents as fire season approaches

This week's warm weather provided a timely opportunity for first responders in the North Bay to get residents prepared in case disaster strikes.

If an earthquake or fire were to hit Mill Valley, sheriffs would use their plane and its brand-new on-board public address system to spread an evacuation message for the 800 residents living on the city's rugged west side.

Saturday's exercise reminded locals that in the event of emergencies, they should prepare to be self-sufficient.
