Two maintenance vehicles crashed inside the tube overnight and damaged the third rail from San Francisco to Oakland. There are no reports of any injuries. Delays of up to an hour are expected on all lines as service is being single-tracked in the tube.
Crews will work to repair about 380 feet of track during the morning commute and the ETA to finish the work is midday.
BART commuters are being encouraged to telecommute if possible or take other means of transportation.
