A California veterinarian wants to take medical marijuana one step further, and legalize it for pets.

The Southern California vet currently recommends the treatment to ease the pain or increase the appetites of ailing pets.

Doctor Doug Kramer says he has a specific way to administer marijuana to pets that is effective and not dangerous.

Other vets, however, warn pot could mess with dogs' circulatory and digestive systems.

There is currently no legislation in the works to legalize pet pot.
