Yellow fever mosquito found in Central Valley city of Madera

The mosquitos are not native to California, but are common in the southeastern U.S.

They are aggressive, will bite during the day, and can transmit yellow fever, dengue, and other viruses.

County vector control officials will try to eradicate them. They want to put a stop to the problem before the yellow fever mosquitoes form a colony.
