Gas prices expected to surge in next few weeks

Energy analysts say rising crude prices and a fall in U.S. supplies are driving up wholesale gas prices.

They say that's about to be passed on to consumers over the next two weeks, with prices jumping at least 15 cents a gallon.

Crude oil prices have spiked by about $7 this month, mainly because of the unrest in Egypt.

On Friday morning the state average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.99. In San Francisco it's $4.07. And in both Oakland and San Jose it's $3.96.
