According to the website All Things D, Apple will unveil the next generation iPhone during an event on September 10.
Apple has not commented on the report, but the date would fall into the company's usual iPhone launch schedule.
The company released the iPhone 5 on September 12 last year.
There has been speculation the new phone may have a fingerprint sensor, but Apple is staying silent.
