Mill Valley cops add patrols in response to harassment

MILL VALLEY, Calif.

The latest report was filed on Wednesday when a 15-year-old girl told police that a man between the ages of 20 and 30 commented on her appearance, police said.

The girl was walking about a block from Sycamore Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. when a man drove up in a black sedan and asked her how to get to Sycamore Avenue, according to police.

As the girl was explaining how to get there, the man told her she looked nice, police said.

She walked away and the man drove off, police said.

In May, a man, also between the ages of 20 and 30, asked a girl for directions in the same area, police said.

He then commented on the girl's appearance before driving off. Police believe the man may be associated with a silver sedan.

It is unknown if the two incidents are related. Police are investigating both cases.

Police have increased the presence of patrol cars to combat the recurring incident.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Mill Valley police at (415) 389-4100 or anonymously at (415) 721-4547.
