San Francisco's Van Ness Avenue to get dedicated bus lanes

SAN FRANCISCO

This week, San Francisco's transportation authority approved the environmental impact report to add rapid transit service on Van Ness Avenue.

That means dedicated bus lanes will be added on both sides of the median divider.

There will also be fewer bus stops and no left turns on Van Ness.

The changes will cut bus travel times along the corridor by 32 percent.

Construction is set to begin in three years.
