Smash-and-grab thieves hit Union Square store

SAN FRANCISCO

A display window at the Icebreaker clothing store on Post Street is now boarded up. Police got an alarm call around 11:30 Tuesday night. Investigators say someone broke the window overnight and grabbed everything inside.

The store manager across the street says his store, Marmot, was also hit twice in the last month. "Smashed one of our windows, came in and stole and armload of stuff, came back the exact same time a week later and broke another window. He's in, he's out. It only takes him about a minute," store manager Daniel Ridlehoover said.

The manager says surveillance cameras captured the suspect wearing dark clothing, a hood, and a hat. Police are now reviewing the video to try and identify him.
