BART board approves contract with AFSCME

The BART board has approved a contract with AFSCME that contains a minor typo.

The contract contains a mistaken date when a new policy on vesting for retiree health insurance becomes effective. The vote was 6-1. AFSCME represents 220 mid-level managers.

Meanwhile talks between the agency and its two biggest unions have dragged on over a disputed family leave clause that BART says was accidentally signed in the new agreement.
