Alyssa Meza told her mom to push the baby out and that she would catch it, but when Alyssa saw her sister, she knew something was wrong -- something she had seen on a medical TV show.
"The umbilical cord was actually wrapped around the baby. It was like two around, so I had to unwrap it a little, and I ran next door to grab my neighbor because the baby was a little purple," Alyssa recalled.
Alyssa's mom and new baby sister came home from the hospital on New Year's Day, both in good health.
Alyssa says she wants to be a paramedic when she grows up and she's already shown that she's cool under pressure.
