The smartphone revolution started seven years ago Thursday when the late Apple founder Steve Jobs introduced the very first iPhone at Macworld at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The first phones shipped out six months later after engineers fixed the initial bugs that Jobs had to avoid on stage.

The iPhone took computing power from desktops and put them into users' hands, using their fingers to control the screen.

Analysts expect Apple to sell 175 million iPhone this year.
