Military mom surprises son at basketball game

Thirteen-year-old Derrick Jenkins was set up by the coaches so he could receive a surprise visit from his mom, Lieutenant Colonel Cotina Jenkins Sellers, who has spent the last eight months stationed in Kuwait.

The refs called a fake technical foul so Derrick could be sent to the free throw line.

"You know, we're at a basketball game; his friends are here, girls are here, maybe he'll cry, but then he'll be mad at me," Jenkins Sellers said.

His mother snuck up behind just before the second throw and when he missed the shot, she leaned in and said, 'Oh, that's alright Derrick," as the crowd erupted in cheers.

Derrick was shocked to say the least, and got emotional as he told his mother how much he missed her.
