Google's self-driving cars may soon be spotted whizzing around the Central Valley. The Mountain View-based tech giant is leasing part of the Castle Commerce Center near Atwater for two years.

Google is paying nearly half a million dollars to use 60-acres of land for two years, starting in May. The Merced Board of Supervisors approved the deal back in December.

Google will be using the space to test and refine its self-driving car technology.
