Suspect in shooting at Antioch Jack in the Box charged

ANTIOCH, Calif.

Contra Costa County prosecutors filed the charges Thursday against Antioch resident Elijah Hill in connection with the shooting around 4 p.m. last Sunday in the Jack in the Box restaurant at 4801 Lone Tree Way. His arraignment was set for 1:30 p.m. today in Contra Costa County Superior Court in Martinez.

Police said Hill shot into the car where a 33-year-old man was sitting, striking him multiple times. The suspect and victim had apparently gotten into a fight in the parking lot just before the shooting, according to police.

Hill fled the scene and the victim was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. He remained hospitalized in critical condition as of this morning, according to police.

Officers found Hill on Wednesday and arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to county jail in Martinez where he is being held on $1.5 million bail.
