TSA finds shocking number of guns, explosives

SAN FRANCISCO

This week, there were 37 weapons were discovered in carry-on bags, including one at San Francisco International Airport, and most were loaded.

New numbers show more than 1,800 firearms were seized last year. That's an increase of 16 percent over 2012, which is an average of five every day.

The TSA released pictures of some of the weapons. Among them, were potential bomb-making materials found at SFO, as well as in Cleveland and Alaska.

A claymore mine was found in checked luggage in Puerto Rico.

TSA officers even discovered a suicide vest at an Indiana airport. It was a training aid used by an explosives instructor.
