Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood, both from Southern California, are facing trial for the March 31, 2011, incident. The district attorney has been in discussion with defense lawyers about a "guilty" or "no contest" plea deal to avoid a potentially lengthy trial.
Stow, a Santa Cruz-area paramedic and father of two, was brutally beaten outside Dodger Stadium after the opening day game in 2011 between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He suffered severe injuries that left him permanently disabled.
Members of the Stow family are expected to attend the hearing to make victim impact statements.
Sanchez and Norwood will still be facing weapons charges in a federal court, which could carry an additional five years in a federal prison.
Stow is suing former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and three team entities he created. The civil suit claims negligence in security at the stadium, liability and negligent hiring.
Stow celebrated his 45th birthday on Feb 12.
