The Line 40 bus was hit by gunfire three times around 4:05 p.m. near 78th and Bancroft avenues, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.
The operator and passengers on board were not injured in the shooting, he said.
The bus was pulled from service and passengers transferred to another bus, Johnson said.
