Fremont teen's movie gets White House screening

FREMONT, Calif.

Tiffany Lin was among 16 student filmmakers chosen for the first ever White House Student Film Festival.

Screeners included celebrity astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson and actor Kal Penn.

Lin, a sophomore at Irvington High School, created a stop-motion film called "Discovery" that featured an enlightened Transformer.

Each movie's theme is about technology's role in education. The 16 selections were picked out of 2,500 submissions.
