Statewide AMBER Alert issued for 4 abducted kids in LA

LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles police believe Enrique Felix and Rose Chairez, both 28, kidnapped their four children -- 5-year-old Justin Felix, 7-year-old Enrique Felix, and 1-year-old twin girls Veronica Felix and Janeth Felix

Prior to the abduction, the kids had been placed in protective custody under the care of their maternal grandmother, after abuse allegations were made against their parents. Enrique and Rose were ordered to stay away from their kids at all times with the exception of their scheduled visits. Police say the father is reported to be physically violent towards the mother and children.

Police say the parents went to the grandmother's home Friday at about 12:30 p.m. and forcibly took the children.

Authorities say the suspects were last seen in a dark, possibly gray or purple PT Cruiser with tinted windows, paper plates with black lettering, and a missing right rear hubcap.

Enrique Felix is described as a male Hispanic with black hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 220 pounds.

Rosa Chairez is described as a female Hispanic with red hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing around 150 pounds.

Janet and Veronica are described as having black hair, brown eyes, standing 2 feet tall, and weighing approximately 20 pounds.

Police say Justin Felix is described as having black hair, brown eyes, standing 3 feet tall, and weighing approximately 50 pounds.

LAPD Captain Martin Baeza says authorities are concerned about the safety of the kids.
