The superintendent says the district was responding to a public records request and accidently included the Social Security numbers.
Superintendent Chris Funk issued a statement to ABC7 News saying, "The Bay Area News Group immediately informed us of our mistake and destroyed the file."
The district is offering a year's worth of free identity theft protection to employees.
