Lefty O'Doul's owner wants Bay Area kids to get to baseball games

SAN FRANCISCO

Thursday morning, Nick Bovis dropped by City Academy in San Francisco to tell them he is taking the entire school to a San Francisco Giants game and then handed out baseball caps.

"We're trying to get money and get a ticket, popcorn, or cracker jacks and a hot dog for every kid, and a tour of the park," Bovis said.

Last December, Bovis donated Christmas gifts to the school after watching an ABC7 News story on some of the kids' troubled lives.

Bovis and the Lefty O'Doul's Foundation also plans to take kids from Richmond to a Giants or Oakland A's big league game.
