The mystery behind a bear cub left without explanation at a Lake Tahoe wild animal center may have been solved.

The cub was found almost two weeks ago and is doing well under expert care.

An anonymous caller told the Tahoe Bear League he found the cub beside its dead mother in Humboldt Redwoods State Park and drove it 400 miles to Tahoe to save it.

There's no word on how the mother bear died, but the league says the man knew a lot of details that make it likely the story is true.

Tomorrow night on ABC7 News at 11, we'll give you an exclusive look at how the cub is doing. You won't want to miss this unbelievably cute update.
