SAN FRANCISCO -- The Balboa Park BART station in San Francisco has reopened this afternoon after being closed for more than four hours due to a person who died on the tracks, according to BART officials.
The station reopened at 4:49 p.m., BART spokesman Jim Allison said.
Trains are making normal stops at all stations, but there is still a 10-minute delay on the San Francisco line in the Pittsburg/Bay Point, Dublin/Pleasanton, San Francisco International Airport and Millbrae directions, according to BART officials.
The station, located at 401 Geneva Ave., was closed shortly before 12:30 p.m. following a report of a person under an eastbound train, Allison said.
BART police and the San Francisco medical examiner's office are investigating the incident, he said.
