SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Most of the upper portion of the old eastern span of the Bay Bridge should be gone by 2018.

Caltrans announced Thurdsay they've secured a $69 million dollar bid to demolish the rest of the cantilever section of the bridge.

Contractors will remove portions of the double-deck truss spans and 13 steel towers next.
