SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A new study suggests that a pill could one day make people more compassionate.

Researchers at UC Berkeley and UCSF manipulated the chemical in the brain called dopamine, which is involved in reward and satisfaction.

In a small study, people who were given a drug prolonging dopamine levels were most sensitive to inequality.

Researchers say the study suggests that social interaction might be affected by changing basic biological systems in the brain.
