Every year since 2006, the Grammy Award-nominated band The Killers has recorded a holiday song benefiting the (RED) charity. This year, they enlisted Jimmy Kimmel's help. The results are hilarious, or as Kimmel called it, "what very well may be the greatest holiday song ever recorded by non-chipmunks."

Naturally, Kimmel and the band donned ridiculous Christmas sweaters to help find inspiration for the song. After shutting down ideas like "A Very YOLO Christmas" and ripping off a Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," Killers frontman Brandon Flowers suggests going in a more sentimental direction. After brainstorming words that rhymed with "North Pole," the group settles on "Joel, the Lump of Coal."
The song is a classic Christmas tale of a lump of coal that just wants to make people happy and warm. To Joel's dismay, Santa has other plans for him. But as with all good Christmas stories, Joel finds his purpose and makes at least one little boy's dreams come true on Christmas morning.
The song is available for download on iTunes with proceeds benefiting (RED), the AIDS awareness charity founded by U2 frontman Bono.
