WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- An injured golden eagle is recovering this morning at an East Bay rehabilitation center after being discovered last week by firefighters. The 11-pound eagle was found Thursday outside a San Ramon Valley fire station.

The bird is now in the care of Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital. Doctors say there was blood in its left eye, and the bird showed signs of head trauma, vision loss and poisoning. The eagle will stay at the hospital for at least 30 days before being released back into the wild.
