SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Lady Gaga, Staples and DonorsChoose.org are working to help teachers and students.

The $100,966 that DonorsChoose.org used to fund San Francisco teacher projects was part of a $1 million donation by Staples.

Lady Gaga and Staples worked together earlier this year to showcase the importance of supporting teachers and students.

Staples and the Born This Way Foundation partnered launched a digital kindness tree where people can share acts of kindness they've recently performed, witnessed or pledge to do, with the aim of growing the tree over the summer to create a kinder world.

Visitors who stop by the Born This Way Foundation pop-up at Lady Gaga's concert at AT&T Park in San Francisco Sunday can contribute to the tree.
