Man on scooter dies after early-morning hit-and-run in SF

SAN FRANCISCO -- A man on a motorized scooter died early this morning following a hit-and-run accident in San Francisco.



At 2:15 a.m., fire officials received a report of a crash involving a motorcycle on southbound San Jose Avenue, near Monterey Boulevard, heading toward Interstate Highway 280, according to a fire dispatcher.



Police and fire personnel responded to the incident.



An initial report said the motorcycle crashed into a metal divider, according to the California Highway Patrol.
