Magnitude 3.5 earthquake hits north of Santa Rosa, USGS says
PINOLE, Calif. (KGO) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 struck just north of Santa Rosa at 10:33 a.m. Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake measured at a depth of 7.4 kilometers.
The closer to the surface an earthquake starts, the more ground shaking and potential damage it will cause.

The quake struck roughly 2 miles east-southeast of the unincorporated area of Larkfield-Wikiup, which is 4 miles from Santa Rosa.
Some people on social media described their Santa Rosa residences shaking but no injuries have been reported.
