EAST SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Firefighters contained a three-alarm grass fire in East San Jose this afternoon.
Fire crews responded to a report of a fire in the area of Chula Vista Drive and Alum Rock Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.
The fire charred nearly four acres and threatened at least 12 homes.
Officials said the blaze was contained about an hour later.
At least one person was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
No further details were immediately available.
