San Jose police investigating 36th homicide of the year

SAN JOSE -- A man was found fatally shot near a golf course in San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers responded at 12:51 a.m. to a report of someone down on a sidewalk in the 3100 block of Lone Bluff Way near the Los Lagos Golf Course, police said.

The victim, who had suffered at least one gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not yet being released by police.

No suspect information was immediately available in the case, San Jose's 36th homicide of the year.
