SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Crews are trying to rescue an elephant seal that's stranded on a beach at Candlestick Point in San Francisco.

Sky7 HD was over Jack Rabbit Beach where the mammal was on the sand. That's the main beach at Candlestick Point State Park.
It's unknown how long it's been stranded. A naturalist on site tells ABC7 News reporter Melanie Woodrow the animal may have have been hit by a boat and there may be propeller marks on its right flipper.
