The death of a bicyclist in a crash on State Route 35 over the weekend has renewed concerns from residents about speeding and safety on mountain roads in San Mateo County.
Traffic came to a complete stop on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles County when people began lighting fireworks on the lanes during an illegal takeover.
"I woke up and I watched from my window. I saw like at least two cars spinning around, racing around." San Jose residents are concerned over what the city is doing to crackdown on sideshows.
Tenderloin activists took their worries and concerns to the streets, blocking the intersection of Leavenworth and Golden Gate and chanted "No more traffic deaths."
The impact was so severe, it split the Jeep in half. And now family members looking for answers say they aren't convinced street racing was to blame, since the victims were only a block away from home.
