Research says kids using prescribed stimulants likely to be bullied

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A new study may have you consider whether to give your children drugs to treat attention disorders.

University of Michigan researchers say kids who take prescribed stimulants to treat attention deficit hyper-activity disorder are more likely to be bullied at school.

Having ADHD alone makes kids a target, but the study shows: having medication for it makes it worse because other kids will bully those kids to steal their meds.

Sobering results, at a time when ADHD diagnoses and prescriptions are on the rise.
