Plane stops at SFO for sick passenger

A plane flying from Los Angeles to Hong Kong made an unscheduled stop at San Francisco International Airport early this morning when a person onboard the plane required medical care, airport officials said.

Cathay Pacific Airways flight No. 881 landed at SFO at about 2:45 a.m. The person onboard the plane who needed medical attention was reportedly transported in an ambulance to a local hospital, according to an airport duty manager.

The nature of the medical incident was unknown, the duty manager said.

Flight No. 881 was scheduled to depart Los Angeles International Airport at about 12:20 a.m. today and will make its final stop at Hong Kong International Airport, according to the Cathay Pacific Airways Web site.
