Nob Hill residential fire displaces 18

About 79 firefighters fought a blaze that displaced 18 people at a four-story, residential building on San Francisco's Nob Hill late Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. at 1111 Pine St. and controlled by 5:31 p.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The fire caused about $400,000 in property damage and about $175,000 in content damage, according to the department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
