The International Bird Rescue Center is looking for help, following what has been a very busy month at its Fairfield headquarters.

One hundred fifty injured brown pelicans have been brought there from the Santa Cruz County coast after getting caught in fishing lines and hooks.

The rescue center says it has spent at least $40,000 just to feed the birds and hopes the public can help cover costs.
