Pedestrian hit by vehicle in San Anselmo

SAN ANSELMO, CA

Officers responded to the intersection of Sir Francis Drake and and San Francisco boulevards at about 8:10 a.m. where Edward Caulfield had been struck by a vehicle, according to the San Anselmo Police Department.

Emergency responders from the Ross Valley Fire Department assisted in the response, police reported, treating Caulfield at the scene and later transporting him to Marin General Hospital.

The driver, San Anselmo resident Karen Poppy, was not injured in the accident and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to police.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, according to police.
