At about 9:35 p.m., a person went to the Sonoma Police Department to report that his friend had been murdered at a house on Arnold Drive, according to the sheriff's department.

After officers located the home and found the body inside the residence they began searching for the suspect vehicle. During the search, another call came in from a Sonoma resident who lives on Pueblo Avenue, which is about three miles from where the homicide occurred, sheriff's department officials said.

The resident said someone came into her home and said a person was trying to kill him and asked her to call 911. She called 911 and left the home.

Several deputies and a K-9 unit arrived. The K-9 bit the suspect, who was then taken into custody, according to the sheriff's department.
