Morning burglaries under investigation

San Rafael police are urging residents to lock their doors and windows at night in light of several early morning home burglaries and attempted burglaries that occurred in the city on Saturday.

The burglaries happened in the Gerstle Park area of San Rafael on First and Bayview streets, police said.

Police said the suspect may be driving a red 2000 Ford Explorer that was stolen from the neighborhood around the time the burglaries happened. The car's license plate is 4HXP822.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call police at (415) 485-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
