The man, who had no underlying health conditions, died Wednesday, according to Contra Costa Health Services.

Health officials were not releasing further information about the man, citing patient confidentiality, according to county health department spokeswoman Kate Fowlie.

While most cases of the /*swine flu*/, also known as the /*H1N1*/ virus, have been mild to moderate, as of last Friday, 114 people in the county had been hospitalized with the illness.

The health department will be updating information about any additional hospitalizations later today, Fowlie said.
