Severe weather forces San Francisco Zoo closure

SAN FRANCISCO

Overnight and Tuesday morning, several Cypress tree limbs and branches broke off because of the severe weather conditions. Parts of the zoo were also flooded.

Tuesday morning, park officials determined that the debris left behind by the storm made it unsafe for visitors and decided to close the zoo to the public.

Late Tuesday morning, workers were picking up branches and tree limbs, and using a wood chipper to clear pathways. The zoo should re-open on Wednesday.
