One-alarm fire at San Jose mobile home park

SAN JOSE, CA

The fire was reported at about 6:45 a.m. at a mobile home in the 5700 block of Winfield Boulevard, San Jose fire Capt. Scott Kouns said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 7 a.m. but remained at the scene at 8:30 a.m. putting out hot spots, Kouns said.

The fire was confined to the kitchen and laundry room of the mobile home. The cause of the blaze has not been determined, he said.

Four residents were displaced but no one was injured, Kouns said. Firefighters were initially told that someone was trapped in the home, but quickly learned that all residents had safely escaped.

There were no fire hydrants near the mobile home park, so firefighters had to use a water tender, a tanker filled with water, to battle the fire, he said.
