Police dog tracks down fleeing suspect in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, CA

At about 6:55 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle near 440 Sebastopol Road, according to Santa Rosa police.

The vehicle came to a stop, and the driver got out and ran away on Sebastopol Road, according to police.

Several officers responded to the area and attempted to locate the driver, later identified as Sebastopol resident Sebastian Valdez.

Santa Rosa police K-9 Boz was able to track down Valdez, who was apparently hiding in a wooded area near state Highway 12 and Roberts Avenue.

Valdez was taken into custody and booked into Sonoma County jail for violation of probation, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license.
