Study finds big pharmacies miss drug warnings

WASHINGTON

Consumer Reports Health sent secret shoppers into five pharmacies in New York: Costco, CVS, Target, Walgreens and Walmart, and had them fill prescriptions for the blood thinner Warfarin. Target got the best marks for clear labeling. Only Costco included the required FDA medication guide, but all missed some important warnings.

The consumer group is asking for national prescription standards, saying we know more about our breakfast cereals than our medications.
