The website was knocked offline Tuesday, but Mastercard says it was not the same kind of denial-of-service attacks that it experienced in December after it blocked payments to Wikileaks, the secret sharing site that angered the U.S. government by publishing secret diplomatic cables.
Mastercard says the latest problem was caused by a problem at its internet provider.
