East Bay companies step up to the plate to save A's

OAKLAND, Calif.

Clorox, along with Kaiser, Safeway and other East Bay companies, announced they're committed to getting a new stadium built in Oakland. The group says it's also ready to find major corporate sponsors and acquire naming rights for a new Oakland stadium. But that's not all. They're willing to go even further.

"If the current ownership can't commit to Oakland, or doesn't want to commit to Oakland… we're confident we have identified a new group of owners who would keep the team here in Oakland and get a new stadium built as well," said Clorox CEO Don Knauss.

Knauss says the Fortune 500 company is willing to back its support with money by purchasing anything from luxury boxes to putting its name on the new stadium.
