Intel Labs shows off latest projects

SAN FRANCISCO

Among the products under development are a home that uses sensors to unlock doors and displays media content on walls and counters and a car that takes over driving in bumper to bumper traffic so you can do other things.

"The idea is why not pass that heavy work to the vehicle and while you can do more productive stuff like texting or talking on the phone and allowing people to do this in a more safe fashion," Intel Labs research scientist Carlos Montesinos said.

Intel Labs is also developing a magic mirror, a virtual dressing room that maps a shopper's body shape and lets them try on clothes without having to strip down to their underwear.
